What do I need before I can have a web site?
- Before you can have a web site, you must have Internet Access from a local
service provider or a national on-line service. This usually comes with an
e-mail account and access to the Internet through PPP.
Do you offer dial up Internet access?
- We do not currently offer dial up Internet Access. Rather, we have chosen
to dedicate the resources that running an ISP requires, and channel them into
faster service, and better quality, for our web clients. You can access your
site through any local ISP, or a national service provider such as CompuServe
or AOL.
Can I get a domain such as www.yourname.com?
- Yes, this is considered a Virtual Domain. This name must be registered
and paid for through InterNIC. MKCA will take care of the registration for
you. InterNIC will bill you directly, (US$100 for first two years, fifty
dollars a year thereafter.)
What is InterNIC anyway?
- InterNIC is a central processing entity that was designed to manage the
Internet. InterNIC ensures unique domain names, and basically serves as a
central directory for routing Internet traffic.
How do I check domain name availability?
- If you want to check it yourself, you can go to
http://rs.internic.net/cgi-bin/whois
Can I transfer my existing domain to MKCA?
- Yes. MKCA can take care of all of the paperwork for you at NO ADDITIONAL
CHARGE. Contact us at info@mk.net for more
details, and to discuss your case.
What is the InterNIC fee for domain registration?
- The initial fee is $70.00 (US) and covers registration for two years. After
the initial two-year period you will be billed by InterNIC at the rate of $35 per
year. InterNIC will bill you directly.

How long does it take before my domain name is active?
- A typical registration takes less than a day, but let us know if you do not
receive notification that a domain name has been either registered or transferred
within 5 days. In the meantime, refer all concerns to InterNIC Registration
Services. We encourage you to be patient when it comes to registering a domain
name. InterNIC gets thousands of requests every day.
Can I use my account for commercial purposes?
- Absolutely, many of our clients are already doing so quite successfully.
Do you accept international clients?
- Yes, However payment must be by Credit Card Only (Visa, Mastercard, American
Express)

How much technical support do you offer?
- We offer technical support via e-mail 24 hours per day, 7 days a week to

How do I put my files on the server?
- You can use FTP to transfer your files to the server 24 hours a day,
7 days a week.
What file names will the server accept?
- The server is case sensitive and will accept filenames of up to 254 characters.
We suggest using all lower case, the internet community seems to have accepted that
as a standard. Please refrain from using spaces or special characters, as it may
cause problems with some programs.
Will I have unlimited access to update my pages?
- You have unlimited access to update your pages, with no charge. 24 Hours
a Day, Every Day.
How do I get a page to load automatically?
- You can get your page to load automatically by naming your homr page
'index.html' or 'index.htm'. If your home page is actually a script, you
should name it 'index.cgi'
What is Web data transfer?
- This is how many megabytes of your information are accessed by people
browsing your site.
Will xxx MB of Web data transfer be enough for my site?
- Only about 1-2% of all users exceed the allotted transfers. Sports and Adult
sites usually have the most transfers.
How can I upgrade from one service to another?
- This is easy. Just ask. We will upgrade your account for you. The only
charge will be the difference between the setup charge you have already paid
and the setup charge of the upgraded account. The new monthly charges take
effect immediately after you are upgraded.
How can I update my account information?
- E-mail us at accounting@mk.net
with any changes you need made.
Can I change the user name and password on my FTP site?
- You can change your password as often as you like. We recommend that you
change your password at least once a week. You can not change your username.
